Capturing beauty in the big moments and the small, in Ohio and destinations worldwide.
Hi there! Welcome to the Catherine Milliron Photography blog, the place where my passion for photography, travel, and business collides.
I love serving and celebrating my couples on their happiest days and I love serving and celebrating other business owners as I share my knowledge and love of business education.
I hope you'll grab your favorite beverage (I'll be sipping a lavender latte) and stay awhile!
Myra and John’s historic Savannah, Georgia destination engagement session was what all southern pastel loving dreams are made of. This sweet couple has always been drawn to Savannah’s whimsical charm, so when they found out I would be in the area for a weekend, they traveled eight hours round trip to have their engagement photos […]
A month ago I took a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio with one of my dear friends, and y’all asked for a travel guide recap of all the places we ate while we were there! Here’s a list of my favs (complete with photos) of my favorite places and best restaurants to eat at in downtown Cincy! Have you visited any of these eateries or do you have another favorite local spot to recommend? Let me know in the comments! Happy traveling!
Happy new year, dear friends!! And what a year it’s been. 2019 was a wonderful one for Catherine Milliron Photography, and since it’s been such a fantastic year, I figured it was only fitting for me to round up all the best behind-the-scenes photos I could find.
There are candids, bloopers, inside peeks at a wedding day — everything you could ever want! From grainy cell phone pics to spontaneous photos with tourists in Philadelphia, this gallery has a little something for everyone.
When Briana reached out to me last year about shooting her New Jersey greenhouse wedding (right outside the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), I couldn’t say yes fast enough. Greenhouse weddings are such a magical concept to envision, and her and Andrew’s elegant wedding day at Round Tree Farm and Greenhouse in Mullica Hill was truly what dreams are made of. Briana is a graphic designer, so her wedding was filled to the brim with gorgeous accents and evidences of attention to even the tiniest details. And get this – most of her decor and accent pieces, she made herself. WHAT. A. QUEEN.
Megan and Jay were married on the most magical December day, just ten days before Christmas. Their Muskegon, Michigan wedding (just outside of Grand Rapids) was full of the most perfect cranberry and gold details, lending the most dreamy, wintery touches to their already stunning day. Evergreen branches, chalkboard signs, and wood slice ornaments unified the decor and created a welcoming and homey atmosphere as their nearest and dearest gathered together to celebrate them as they said “I do.”
“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.” – Charles Spurgeon
These words, spoken by the British preacher Charles Spurgeon, encapsulate well the lessons I learned in my time in Greece this summer. I left on June 25th, filled with nervous excitement, with absolutely no idea what adventures laid before me. I returned yesterday, July 16th, and the past twenty three days have held adventure, growth, joy, tears, and so much of the nearness of Jesus.
In all honesty, this lil vlog has nothing to do with my photography or business, but it simply captures such a fun and special season in my life. I’m headed into a very full summer of traveling and shooting weddings, but I am thankful for the first few weeks of summer where we got to road trip and adventure before the busyness starts. I know that this season of post-graduation freedom is a limited one, so I’m trying to soak up the moments and preserve the memories while I can.
So folks, here it is: the Ari + Catherine road trip highlight reel.
Want to have your mind culinarily exploded by a biscuit?? Then you absolutely HAVE to check out Alabama Biscuit Co. I’m not kidding, don’t walk, RUN. (Seriously, even if you live on the other side of the world, these biscuits are worth the trip. Pinky promise.) Their biscuits are incredible.
The next stop on this summer’s jam-packed travel itinerary is my home, Dallas, but we absolutely had to stop and explore a few new places along the way. As we passed through Georgia, my best-friend-turned-second-shooter, Ari, and I made a pit stop at Condesa Coffee in downtown Atlanta.
It’s been a hot moment since I have had a chance to blog and catch you up on the craziness around here, but this summer is one full of a whirlwind of traveling – whether vacationing with my family, shooting multiple weddings around the country, or doing missions overseas in Greece. Today, the first part of this summer’s adventures took me and my dear friend Ari through Knoxville, Tennessee.
I had never visited Knoxville before today, however, we wanted to make the most of our quick trip through. We decided to do brunch (our favorite meal of the day, can I get an amen?) and searched for local places serving unique dishes we may not be able to get elsewhere. After looking around, we decided to visit the French Market Crêperie
What a wonderful day this was. Our trip took us to Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco, Texas – the home of HGTV’s Fixer Upper stars, the demo day and shiplap loving couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines. While there, we shopped the silos, walked the grounds, sampled the food trucks, and indulged in some of the most amazing cupcakes we’ve ever had. The silos boast a wide-open green space full of picnic tables, chairs, and swings: the perfect place for summertime fun in the sunshine.
