Katelyn and Isaac’s stunning springtime wedding at Margot Hill was a celebration just as joyful as the sunshine on their May wedding day. Katelyn (or Katie, to me and everyone else who knew her in elementary school) is one of my oldest friends. We met at our first night of basketball practice when I was in fourth grade and she was in third, and the rest was history. The shy girl I met on the court that night became one of my most vivacious and life-giving friends over years of late night sleepovers, springtime softball seasons (with both our dads always giving extra coaching from the sidelines), and childhood adventures. Katie was the friend who walked me through one of the hardest seasons of my life, and despite now living thousands of miles today, those experiences together sealed our friendship as one of those “forever” kinds you know you’ll be able to lean on for years to come.
So when Katie called me one day to let me know she had found “the one” my heart lept for her. “The one” we had dreamed of over years of building wedding boards on Pinterest, swooning over chick flicks at sleepovers (always with homemade chocolate chip cookies), and heartfelt conversations about the kind of men we’d marry one day. Isaac is her “one” and I could not be more thrilled for the two of them as they begin this new life adventure together, hand in hand.
Margot Hill, a new North Texas venue just east of Dallas, was the best backdrop they could have asked for, with a whole house for them to get ready in, a gorgeous afternoon ceremony overlooking the pond, and a sunset reception in their perfect indoor/outdoor barn and patio reception space. From the navy bridesmaid dresses to the groomsmen’s gray suits, the delicate spring florals to the modern reception space, and the sunshine filled first look to their sparkler exit at dusk, every moment of their day was nothing but lovely.
Katelyn, Isaac – congratulations dear friends. Wishing you all the best as you enter this season as the brand new Mr. and Mrs. Childs!!
