Wowza. These two are precious, precious friends and their mulberry and blush Cleveland Peacock Ridge barn wedding was one for the books. I’ve been friends with Mackenzie and Josiah long before their Ohio coffee shop engagement session. Mackenzie was my roommate during my freshman year of college, and I could not imagine a man more perfect for her than Josiah. God 100% made these two for each other, and the way they cherish one another was evident in every aspect of their day.
Mackenzie and Josiah’s day started slowly – they got ready surrounded by their dearest friends and family. Instead of a first look, the couple chose to wait to see each other until the ceremony and met behind a tree to exchange letters and pray together before they met at the altar. The bride’s stunning two-piece gown was perfectly complimented by her groom’s navy suit and her bridesmaids’ mulberry dresses.
Josiah’s father officiated the ceremony, and the service was completely focused on the gospel the entire time. The beautiful outdoor ceremony at Peacock Ridge, a venue boasting stunning outdoor acreage and a perfectly styled barn, was a celebration of Mackenzie and Josiah’s love for one another, and the love of God that has changed their lives.
The reception was held inside Peacock Ridge’s gorgeous barn, an indoor space full of mismatched white chairs and mismatched white dishes (aka my honest to goodness DREAMMMM – *insert all the heart eye emojis*). Their first dance was to “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, which was also the song to which Mackenzie walked down the aisle. The best man and maid of honor speeches had ME crying, and when the maid of honor started crying as she talked about the faithfulness and beauty of Mackenzie’s friendship, many in the room teared up, knowing the truth of the words spoken about the bride. At sunset, Mackenzie and Josiah snuck away from their reception for a few moments to dance down by the water as the sun went down and then returned to the reception to be sent off by their nearest and dearest in a shower of blush rose petals.
It was an absolutely dreamy day, in every single way. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Smith – I couldn’t be more honored and thankful to have been a part of your day. Love you both!
