Anna was one of the first friends I ever made my freshman year of college, so when her boyfriend, Stephen, asked me to shoot this Ohio Indian Mounds waterfall proposal I couldn’t have been more honored. We went and scoped out the location a few days in advance and planned out the whole thing. Indian Mounds Reserve made the perfect backdrop for his surprise proposal and the weather that day was below freezing, so the waterfall was covered in beautiful icicles as the ground showcased a fresh layer of bright white snow.

Stephen dropped off breakfast and a note to Anna at her apartment, then I met him at the reserve where we waited for Anna to arrive. He had all the typical pre-proposal jitters, but the smile on her face when she saw him waiting for her at the overlook by the waterfall was absolutely priceless. I don’t wanna spoil the surprise, but the pictures below will let you know what she said when he popped the question😉

Finally, to top off his surprise, Stephen had arranged for both their families to meet them afterwards for a party to celebrate their engagement. They walked into the house and were greeted by Anna’s siblings running to hug them as the family obsessed over her ring (let me tell ya – he did so well).

The love Stephen and Anna have for each other is so evident in the way they look at each other and the joy and support their families surround them with is obvious in their celebration of this happy couple. Congratulations to the future Mr and Mrs!
